How to block a number/call on Xiaomi Redmi Phones

i. To block a new number:
  • On your phone, find and launch the Messages or Phone app.
  • Tap the Menu button.
  • Select Blocklist.
  • Tap the Blocklist tab.
  • Tap Add  .
  • Enter the number you want to block, then hit Add.
     
Tip: You can also tap the Contacts button to select a number from the Contacts to block.
ii. To block a number from the Phone app:
  • On your phone, find and launch the Phone app.
  • On the Recent tab, long tap a number and then select Block.
     
Tip: You can also block a number from the Messages screen using the similar method.
iii. To view the list of blocked numbers:
  • On your phone, find and launch the Phone app.
  • Tap the Menu button.
  • Select Blocklist.
  • Select the Blocklist tab.
     
vi. To unblock a number
  • On your phone, find and launch the Phone app.
  • Tap the Menu button.
  • Select Blocklist.
  • Select the Blocklist tab
  • Long tap the number you want to unblock, then hit Unblock.
     
v. To block all numbers that aren’t found in your Contacts
  • On your phone, find and launch the Phone app.
  • Tap the Menu button.
  • Select Blocklist.
  • Tap the Settings icon  on the top right corner.
  • Slide the Block unknown callers and Block unknown messages switches to the right.
     
vi. To block private numbers
  • On your phone, find and launch the Phone app.
  • Tap the Menu button.
  • Select Blocklist.
  • Tap the Settings icon  on the top right corner.
  • Slide the Block private numbers switch to the right.
vii. To view the block calls and messages
All the messages and calls from the blocked numbers will not be listed on the standard Call logs andMessagesscreen. Instead, they’re listed on the Blocked log.
Here’s how to view them :
  • On your phone, find and launch the Phone app.
  • Tap the Menu button.
  • Select Blocklist.
  • Tap the Message log or Call log tab to view.
     
viii. To filter messages based on keywords
  • On your phone, find and launch the Phone app.
  • Tap the Menu button.
  • Select Blocklist.
  • Tap the Settings icon  on the top right corner.
  • Slide the Filter messages switch to the right.
  • Tap Set keyword filter to enter the keywords.
     
Note: The keyword matching is case sensitive.
Note: The steps here were written for MIUI V5, based on Android 4.2.2 on a Redmi (HM1W). If you’re having a different model of Redmi or other version of MIUI, there’s a possibility that the steps and screenshots will be different.
